Hair Trouble? Use These Tips For A Change!

September 4, 2018

Wish your hair was more shiny and lively? Do you find yourself feeling dejected or self-conscious about your tresses? Well, there are things that you could do in order to bring excitement and life back to your hair. Your hair quality will improve greatly by applying the tips you will learn in this article.

Keep your hair damage free by not brushing it when wet. Wet hair is not as strong as dry hair, so it’s easier to break off. To reduce damage done while brushing, brush it before you wash it and then wait until it is fully dry before brushing it again.

To restore your hair’s condition and give it more strength, reduce the amount of time that small appliances are used in styling your hair. Things like curling irons can harm hair, causing more damage than you might be able to repair. Every once in a while, give your hair a break and lay off the heat!

There are now products available that will give your hair the effect of just having bathed in the salty ocean. Most of these products will contain salt or some other form of sodium. You can make your own salt spray by adding a tsp of salt to 8oz of water. If desired, you can also add lavender oil (ten drops) for a pleasant scent and moisturizing effect.

Do not ever tug or rub your hair with the towel when you are drying it. Not only will this cause damage to your hair at the roots, but it will also stretch the hair and cause it become frizzy and thin. Rather what you should do is blot, pat or carefully squeeze out the extra moisture in your hair, then loosely wrap it in a towel. You should also avoid brushing or combing it while it’s wet, unless you use a wide-toothed comb.

Use a satin pillowcase. This will keep your curly hair protected at night. Cotton cases can cause the hair to become dry and absorb its natural oils. Satin pillowcases allow you to get up in the morning with beautiful, protected hair. You could also use a scarf or a satin bonnet as well.

Get your hair wet with fresh water before getting into a chlorinated swimming pool to minimize the amount of chlorine your hair absorbs. Also, if you don’t use a swim cap, try to wash your hair (and condition it) right after you leave the pool so you can avoid damage.

Brushing and combing hair can stimulate growth by keeping your scalp free from dead or loose skin. It can also clear out any pores that are clogged on your head that might be slowing hair growth. Try to brush your hair for about 100 strokes every day, so you stimulate growth of hair.

Hopefully, the tips you read in the above article were easy to understand so you can simply include them in your daily routine. Apply some of the things that you’ve learned here, and notice a positive change to the look and feel of your hair.
